Oreo Balls

If you have never experienced the deliciousness of oreo balls, you are missing out!  I was introduced to them several years ago, and try to make them as often as I can come up with an excuse.  This week was our turn to bring dessert to our small group Bible study, so guess what I decided to make!

They are super easy...

Take one package of oreos (or a cheaper off-brand, as I chose to do :)) and one block of cream cheese (room temperature).

Get out your handy dandy food processor (one of my favorite kitchen gadgets).  Process all of the oreos into crumbs, and then add the cream cheese until mixed well.  If you don't have a food processor, put the oreos in a ziploc baggy to crush, and then mix with cream cheese with an electric mixer.

Chill the "dough" until firm enough to roll into balls.  Once rolled into balls, I chill them again to make them easier to dip in chocolate.  Melt your favorite chocolate - this time I used chocolate almond bark for half and white chocolate for the other half.  Dip the balls in chocolate and place on wax paper to set.

Next...eat!  Enjoy!

  9. Original recipe called for 18 oz package of Oreos. They've cut the size of the package down to 14 oz. It's worth it to buy two packages of Oreos and weigh them to 18 oz, otherwise it's too much cream cheese.
